Yamica Peterson

Yamica Peterson was born in Portsmouth NH to sing, it’s in the family. She is the oldest granddaughter of the late Jean M. Jones, Portsmouth’s ‘Lady of Song’ and great-niece to local jazz legend Sharon “Brown Sugar” Jones. At age 3, she gave her first performance and has been singing ever since. Whether she is accompanying herself on keys, singing in duos with guitarists such as her father, Pete or fronting Mica’s Groove Train, the experience is all soul. Mica’s originals and choice covers are delivered with passion and an energy that comes from within. Accomplished artists such as Dave Gerard, Don Severance and the Amorphous Band have all collaborated with Mica on recordings and performances that brought the houses down.
